What we believe in…
Ascot Promotions aspires to offer you a truly personable service, which we feel many other companies often lack. That’s why we purposely don’t allow you to design and order your own personalized clothing through our website. It’s not that we couldn’t handle the technology, it’s just that speaking to you first enables us to understand your requirements better. Ultimately, we want to make sure you end up with the right products for you. So, let’s go old-school. Pick up the phone and let’s have a chat. Where it all began…
“It all started in September 1999. My Husband, Gary, was trying to source embroidered workwear for his electrical business. After trawling through the internet and Yellow Pages (yes, THAT long ago!) we found that most companies had large minimum order quantities and no way of testing the quality of the garments before committing to the order! We just couldn’t find what we were after. We wanted a local company, where we could speak to someone about what would be best for us and ideally, a showroom where we could see the garments and try bits on!
The decision was made that we would buy an embroidery machine and we would produce our own workwear. We found a suitable single head embroidery machine, and this took shelter on my dining room table. After countless damaged polo shirts and hundreds of broken needles, I had finally got to grips with the embroidery machine and the first batch of uniform was created! Word quickly got around and soon, friends and other local businesses wanted their uniform embroidered too! And so, Ascot Promotions was born. Running the machine from home (still on the dining room table) I had to juggle the ever-growing orders, with being a full time Mum to three boys. Production was often paused so I could do the school run, cook dinner or get through that dreaded basket of ironing! I soon outgrew the dining room and we moved into our very first office and took on our first full time employee, who is still with us today!
Fast forward to 2012 and Joe, my youngest Son, joined the team. Joe brought the business into the 21st Century, making upgrades to the website, machinery and the software used. Joe also added printing to the business, as we soon realized that embroidery wasn’t necessarily the best decoration method for everyone. Ensuring that we are up to date with the latest technology and equipment is a big thing for us, as we pride ourselves on quality. Joe and I are still heavily involved in the day to day running of the business, with the much-needed help of our ever-growing members of staff.”
